I am having the same problem. I am wondering if there is a filter that is clogged and that's why the ice maker only get a very small amount of water... get back to me if you can. I have an Amana that is about 10 years old.

Check water inlet valve

A strainer before the inlet valve can also get stopped up restricting flow.
