Default Side by Side Refrigerator too cold at lowest Setting
Brand: General Electric
Model Number: PSS25MGMAWW
Age: 5 - 10 years

I tried setting both controls at "5", and after a day the water dispenser line was frozen and most liquids in the fresh food section were solid ice. Back at "1" and "1" and it works OK, but continues to be too cold on the fridge side.

Could you steer me in the right direction for the part numbers and diagram locations for the "Temp Control" and "Control Board", assuming the same solution I saw elsewhere on this site applies.

Many thanks,

Eduardo

PS: Also it would be great to know if the solution offered to Alice worked.

Default Next step ?

Based on the other thread I read, you had mentioned that it could be either one of the two parts, I assume you believe the same to be the case for my issue. I did not see a reply post from the original user with the problem (Alice), so I do not know what she did and if it fixed her problem. So...

Which would you recommend as the best course of action ?

A) Order and replace the more likely culprit (Which one ?) and if not resolved, order and install the other part.

or

B) Order both and replace them both.

Thank You !!!

Test the temp control here. Refrigerator Repair Guide: How To Test the Temperature Control - ACME HOW TO.com

If it test ok the board would be the next step. Make sure the damper is closing when you adjust the fridge temp to warmer. It lets the cold air in from the freezer.
