 GE Side by Side
I'm hoping this will save someone else alot of time. The GE fridge model GSH25JFRF BB DOES HAVE A RECALL on the main circuit board. It caused our refrigerator to make noises, then the dispensers quit working --- then it quit working all together and everything in the fridge went bad. It was not until we made several calls and were given a case number that GE finally admitted to not only this part being recalled -- but that there was no notification sent. They first encouraged us to have it fixed ourselves and fax them the bill --- until I continued to call and ask more questions.
The customer relations number is 800-386-1215. As soon as I called them back with my claim number (that they gave my husband when they told us to pay for repairs ourselves), told them our local repair shop had diagnosed the problem as the main circuit board they offered to send a GE technician out the next day - no charge to do the repair and part replacement. However, we got stuck with our bill for the service call for the non-GE authorized repair. GE told me to fax that bill to them to ask about reimbursement since they told us to go ahead with the service and they would see what they could do about reimbursement.
Also, they gave me their insurance department number of 1-888-456-7445 for reimbursement for all of our lost food --- we'll see how that goes. Unfortunately I didn't know our fridge was not at the right temp and got food poisening from leftovers....gross. |
