Default Side by side fridge warm freezer cold
Brand: Maytag
Model Number: RCW2000DAB
Age: 5 - 10 years

Today Freezer at -28C. Fridge +10C. Running all the time.
Two weeks ago water spout stopped working, Freezer at -10C and Fridge at +15C for 3 days then suddenly all OK.
Monitored temperatures for 2 weeks it was working; Freezer at -28C, Fridge at +3C.
Cleaned the condensor - not dirty, fan working. Can't find any hits on this model#.
Just manually rotated the defrost timer to get it to stop. waiting to see if water pools in pan.
Don't know where to look next. Some sort of auto damper not diverting air to the fridge side?
help

I am sorry, I am ignorant to celcus, but I am sure I can help you. Answer me these three qustions. Is the fan running in the freezer? If this is a side by side, look in the frezzer, almost all the way down, at the back wall, and let me know if there is frost build up on the back wall. Also can you give me the Farenheit temps. You can reach me at T. PAONE's APPLIANCE SALES & SERVICE GUIDE Thanks Tom

-28C = -18F in the Freezer
+10C = = 50F in the Fridge
Fan is running in the freezer for 10 hours until the timer stops it for 21 minutes.
Back wall Freezer can't see frost build up, can feel frost on opposite side of air port on fridge side.
Air port fridge side at top is frosty and no air is being blown into the cheese drawer.

thanks for the wiring diagram
I think it is either the thermostat or contacts in the timer, though I have not got it apart yet to check resistance on the defrost heater element.

I do not think your problem is the thermostat, or the timer. I think you should take off the back panel inside the freezer, where the heaters are, and look at the frost pattern. I have seen this before. What you need to do is replace the defrost thermostat, which is located and the top of the evaporator coil. This part has a history of sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't. Get a blow dryer and defrost all frost build up everywhere, and if there is any build up anywhere on the evaporator coil, defrost that too, and replace the defrost thermostat. Don't let it fool you, because if you check continuity to the defrost thermostat it will check good. Your part # is 52085-29. Don't over think it. This is most likely your problem. Tom T.
