Default Short in Refrigerator
Brand: Kelvinator
Model Number: 044F Class N
Age: More than 10 years

I have a Kelvinator Top Freezer/Lower Refrigerator purchased In November 1996. Model Number 0444F, Class N, Serial Number 00448. The appliance shorts out the entire house electrical system. If I press the re-set button the appliance will operator for another ten hours before again shutting off the entire house electrical system. If I try to do it manually, the appliance will operator for only about two hours befoe again shutting everything off. No one here seems to be able to diagnose the problem. Please advise.

It sound like you have a shorted defrost heater.

Sorry I don't have any information on your model.
