Exclamation Service Technician Communications
Brand: Whirlpool
Age: Less than 1 year

I am a SxS design engineer for Whirlpool. I wanted to try to set up an email list of service technicians to exchange information in order to provide better overall service to our customers.

The plan is to get feedback from service technicians on any unique or escalating failure modes that they may be seeing on our products. I would then be able to relay the information to any service technician on the list. Additionally, when new products are released I can help answer any questions on how to service them as well as how the new products are supposed to function.

I would be able to relay the latest information about our new products and what we are seeing in service calls and hopefully I could get feedback directly from the service technicians to better understand what our issues truly are.

Currently, I read all dispenser related service calls that are made under warranty. Unfortunately, many of the calls simply say something similiar to "Water Leak" and the service is "Fixed Leak". In an effort to prevent leaks on future products we would like to better understand what failures service tech's are seeing as soon as possible so that we can get them addressed.

Please let me know if you would be interested in signing up for this database. Don't worry, I won't be selling your email address or anything like that. We are really just looking for additional ways to further improve our quality. I thought a better relationship with the service organization would be a good way to start.

Thanks,
Mark Gogel

Good idea. It might also help to monitor this and other forums like it.
