Default Samsung Refrigerator
Brand: Other
Model Number: RS253BAWW
Age: 1 - 4 years

We have a Samsung Refrigerator (Model RS253BAWW) that is less than two years old. Just recently we have had water standing in the bottom of the refrigerator that eventually runs out onto the floor. We checked for leaks in the water lines and holding tank and found nothing. We now believe it's condensation. We also think the drain may be clogged, but we don't know where to begin looking for the drain or how to unclogg it if so. The owners manual does not provide this information. Any information or tips you can provide us with would be greatly appreciated.

Here is your parts breakdown
Maytag RS253BAWW

And here is a service manual
http://www.servicematters.com/maytag...cs/SAM0092.pdf

Drain should be behind the rear covers fresh food section
You can use a turkey baster to clean it, blow the crud out with a little water
If it has crud growing in it rinse it with a 10% bleach solution
Also check that it is not clogged where it enters the evap tray under the fridge

Place a 2 inch strip of paper between the frame and the door seal.
Then try to pull it out, to check if you have a sealing problem which is letting moist air into the unit. Do this all the way around. Leaks can be caused by the gasket itself but also by door hinge problems.

Default Ice Build Up on the Evaporator Coils

We removed the covers behind the fresh food section and exposed the evaporator coils. There was an ice build up on the evaporator coils, with major ice accumulation below the coils entirely covering what looks like a drain pan.

Right now we are waiting for the ice to completely melt. What can we do to prevent this from happening in the future? Does it appear that a part may not be working properly? Thank-you for your time and assistance.
