GE Profile Problems is on a distinguished road
Default Same exact problem....

Hi there - I noticed that my LED panel on my PFS22SISBSS GE Profile refrigerator was dimming as the compressor came on. After reading this thread, I contacted GE and was also told that there was only a 1 year warrantly for the board. They then forwarded me to the consumer relations department. After talking with the rep for a few minutes, she suggested to have the repair tech come out and diagnose the problem, and then to call GE back to determine whether they would cover the cost. I agreed, and they scheduled a repair call for the next day. When the repairman arrived, he looked at the fridge for about 1 minute before announcing "bad control board." I asked if the repair would be covered, and he said "it's all taken care of", and that he had the part in the truck. Apparently, GE is dealing with a lot of these boards going bad. My fridge is just shy of 2 years old. It's now fixed and running properly (for the moment). The repairman was even nice enough to give me a free halogen bulb to replace the one that burned out in my GE Spacemaker microwave... It's a real pain to change the bulb, but that's a whole other complaint.

Anyway, just wanted to let others know that GE will take care of the problem if you are insistent. Deal with the repair tech though, and don't try to win a war with the customer service phone reps.
