The prior owner left us with the real inexpense brand of appliances. The refrigerator runs about every 35 minutes for 7 to 10 minutes. We cleaned the fan and coils (lots of dust). We also noticed white styrofoam around the Air difuser. We are wondering this the unit was even set up properly.

The Styrofoam is part of the air diffuser. Do not remove this.

New fridges from 1990 on do run an average of twenty hours a day.

If the fridge is keeping a good temperature it is likely normal for the fridge.
