Default Run of the Mill Compressor Question
Brand: Kenmore
Model Number: 59673503200
Age: 1 - 4 years

Freezer's not cooling (not sure about fridge section), noise has commenced, intermittent sick loud buzzing emanating from area of compressor...getting more frequent...so, I'm thinking capacitor or relay maybe, or would that be too simple (and cheap)? Any diagnostics other than checking the cap (I've got a DVM that'll do it)? Thanks in advance.

Wyleyy,

Thanks...that's what I was afraid of...actually, it's a Kenmore...I'm assuming Amana makes 'em for Sears...I've called a repairman...I'm assuming a compressor replacement is beyond the scope of an intermediate hobbyist....

Muddy

Wyleyy,

Before I got a chanced to see your post, the wife dragged me over the coals by letting me know that the repairman provided a repair estimate of $585...when my head stopped spinning and the nausea passed, she also noted the warranty angle...she's got a real sadistic streak! Seriously, thanks again.

Muddy

P.S. - While I've got your ear, I also posted about weak filtered water from this unit...as I indicated there, I've replaced the filter, and done a "hambone" pressure/flow test, so I'm thinking it's one of the 2 water control valves...any thoughts?
