Question Rotor motor freezes up to ice maker
Brand: General Electric
Model Number: GSS25LGMBWW
Age: 5 - 10 years
GE Frig is 5 years old. I have replaced two motors that turn the auger to the ice despencer. The motor appears to be coated in a thin sheet of ice when removed. They freeze up and won't operate. I was wondering if the problem might be when the ice tray heats to dump the ice if it might be leaking on the motor. Do I need to replace the ice maker?

It is hard to say what is happening.

Watch the ice maker when it is filling to see if it is over filling.
