Default Rerifgerator Side Not below 54 degrees
Brand: Maytag
Model Number: RS2545SH
Age: 1 - 4 years

We've had the Samsung RS2545SH (alos shows up as a Maytag appliance when searching for parts) for a little over a year. We've had problems with the computer going out after power surges and the freezer not working but all I had to do then was unplug it and everything would be fine. Now, the freezer works fine but the refrigerator won't get colder than 54 degress (at least according to the digital displays on the front) It feels somewhat cold so I know the refigerator is doing something. I hear the compressor. And when I hit Power Cool it does seem to go up a notch then it returns to around 54 degrees and stays there.

At one point the freezer side got down to -12 which is way below the -2 I have it set for, not sure that is related, but it returned to normal.

I've read about defrost timers on these forums but I don't know where to find it on this unit sinde everything is computer controlled from the front of the appliance.

It also has a "Twin Cooling" feature which they say is separate cooling for freezer and refrigrator side, whuch I assume would mean no damper.

Anyway, sorry for the long ramble, I'm just very confused and to get a Samsung tech out here is a real pain.

Thanks.

Check for ice on the evaporator in the fridge. Here's a diagram for location.

Ice buildup would indicate defrost problem which is controlled by the board. Your manual may tell how to force a defrost to check if the heater and defrost thermostat work.
