Default Replacing freezer and food door gaskets
Brand: Admiral
Model Number: NT19K9
Age: More than 10 years

Are there tips anyone would share for replacing the door gaskets on an Admiral refrigerator? How should I prepare the surface after the old gaskets are removed? Do the replacement gaskets just stick in place? Also, if the doors are sagging some, do I need to replace the hinges?

Thanks, Gordon

The door gaskets are not fun to change so if they are not damaged don't change them.

There are about 60 screw the hold the fridge door gasket in place.

If you have to replace the gaskets take the doors off and lay them on a flat surface so the handles hang over the edge.

Remove all the screws.

When installing the screw do not over tighten them it will make the door bow.

If the doors are sagging replace the hinge thimbles.

Here is a link to your fridge model NT19K9.

Thanks for that information. Is the thimble referred to as the hinge pin bushing in the parts list?

Sheila,

How many thimbles should I order? One for each door?

Thanks

Gordon

You should order four two for each door.
