Question Replacing freezer door seal
Brand: Frigidaire
Model Number: FFU20F9GW2
Age: 5 - 10 years

I have an 8-yr old 22 cu ft upright Frigidaire self-defrosting freezer. After repeatedly getting ice build-up on the bottom, I determined that the door seal is bad. How complicated is it to replace it? My husband is handy but doesn't have much time to spare. The replacement door seal is @ $75.00.

Not too hard to do. Best way is to remove door lay on its face, and remove all the gasket screws, then remove gasket and put in the new one. Helpfull to use a hair dryer to get the kinks out and smooth out the new one. Sometimes this is hard to do. In some cases I have leaned the item back to let gravity pull the gasket in place.
Let it set like this for a few hrs. Also when all done make sure the fridge is leaning back a little bit. This helps the gasket to seal.
