Default Replacement ice maker will not fill with water
Brand: General Electric
Model Number: TFX24S
Age: 5 - 10 years

I just installed a replacement ice maker for my GE side-by-side fridge. Installation went fairly smooth, with just one hitch; it is not filling with water. I have water to the drink dispenser, and the green indicator light is on, so I have power.
The installation instructions said it may take several hours for the freezer to reach the selected temperature for ice production, but this should not keep water from being added to the icemaker.

Any helpful ideas??

Manually fill it with water and see if it starts the cycle when it freezes.

Default Ice maker not working

Thanks Woodchuck. I filled the ice maker with water last night. This morning the ice had been dumped, but the ice maker had not been refilled. Sounds like something else is the problem.

Ideas??

Try swapping the wires which plug into the solenoids at the inlet valve.

This way the water dispenser should send water to the ice maker. If it does it means that the water line to the ice maker is working.

If your ice maker dumps and refills with water it will come out the water dispenser with the wires swapped. If it doesn't then I would have to blame it on the solenoid.

If the lines are the same size you can also swap them around to do this check.
