Red face Replaced valve in ice maker
Brand: General Electric
Model Number: TFH22PRSM
Age: 5 - 10 years

i swore it was the valve that needed to be replaced on the icemaker. apparently that's not it because i'm still not getting ice, i am getting water. i just noticed the green light on the side is blinking, what can that mean? i shut it off for 10-20 min's and when it comes back on it's steady? ok, so far it's cost me 45.00. do i need to buy an ohms tester? what is an ohms tester? i previously asked how i could check the temp but haven't gotten a reply. can someone out there help me? thanks!

To check the temperature you will have to buy a thermostat that you can set in the freezer.

It would be best to buy a multimeter if you are going to buy one.

This is a meter that you can check for power with the voltmeter section and check the resistance with the ohmmeter section.

It will also have a section for checking dc voltage.

It will come with a manual to tell you how to use it.

The light blinking on the ice make is telling you that there is a problem.

The thermistor in the ice maker could have failed or the ejector may not have return to the home position.

If the ejector has not return to the home position then it can be a magnet failure or the control board or a stalled motor.

the freezer is the right temp. i cannot get the front off the icemaker, i'm afraid to just pull it that it will break. it does have a little notch at the top. can i just use a screwdriver to remove it?

Yes use a screwdriver to remove the front of the ice maker.
