Default Replace FIP Door Gasket (Kenmore Side-By-Side Mfr'd by Whirlpool)
Brand: Kenmore
Model Number: 10650592003
Age: 5 - 10 years

The gasket on the door of my fridge is torn. The gasket appears to be part of the door with no obvious way to remove it - I think this type of gasket is called foam-in-place (FIP). A technician told me that the only way to fix it was to replace the door. Replacement gaskets only do appear to be sold, but I cannot find any instructions online on how to replace this kind of gasket.

Is it possible to replace this kind of gasket? If so, how is it done? Are instructions available anywhere online?

JB

The door gasket is replaceable.

It fits in a grove in the liner of the fridge door.

It pulls out and pushes in.

It is the liner that is foam-in-place and can not be replaced.

Here is a link to the parts for your model fridge 10650592003.

Here are the part numbers for the gaskets.

Fridge door. Black gasket. Part number ps323906.

Fridge door. Beige gasket. Part number ps323900.

Freezer door. Black gasket. Part number ps323905.

Freezer door. Beige gasket. Part number ps323899.

Any special tools or technique for pushing the new gasket into the groove?
