I have a Kenmore side by side refrigerator that will not dispense any ice.
The door opens but no noise (no hum, no click, no sound at all. watter works fine).
Is there a switch under the dispensing door cover that is bad??
How do you remove this cover??
I tried to pry it off through the 2 notches on the bottom of the cover but no go( do not want to brake it)
any help is appreciated

The ice should be pushed out of the bin by a large screw type thing which is turned by a motor behind a cover behind the ice bin. See if that screw will turn by hand and push your dispenser switch with the door switch pushed and listen for the motor.

Thanks for responding.
I tried to turn the screw and it turns. When I push the dispenser lever I hear no sound. The hatch opens but no sound no switch click no motor noise nothing

Any one wondering how I fixed this.
1) Yes you do pry the cover off (slots on bottom)
2) Below the cover there is white plastic sub assembly this holds the switch for the water and a switch for the ice also the light socket.
3) The 2 pins that hold the micro switch for the ice were broken off.
It would be best to replace this assembly it is cheep but I wanted to complete the repair now
4) I took a small drill and drilled were the pins went.
5) Then I cut to length two 6 penny nails heated them and melted them through the plastic were the pin's went (gluing them in place would be a good idea).
6) I then reassembled the switches and light and installed the white sub assembly
7) There was some damage to the plastic latches that hold the switches so I used some small vacuum hose slipped over the ends of the nails to keep the switch in place.
8) Replaced the cover and so far so good
Also the water switch works the same
