Default Refrigirator stop cooling
Brand: Roper
Model Number: RT180KXW01
Age: More than 10 years

The freezer is working but, there is ice on the back panel ( ice is forming on the inside where the fan is located. no air seems to be circulating in the refrigirator part) I defrosted the refrigirator and it is ok for a little while and then it seems to freeze up again. Can someone please tell me what could be causing this problem? Thanks (I'm sorry I did put the wrong model number. it is RT18DKXW01

Your fridge is not defrosting.

Look in the control panel in the fridge section and locate the defrost timer.

All that you will see of the timer is a little knob between two screws.

With the compressor running turn the knob until the compressor shuts off.

The will now be in the defrost cycle.

Check and see it the ice melts.

If the ice melt you will need a new timer.

If the ice does not melt then you have a problem with the heater or the defrost thermostat.

You will need a meter to check the heater and the defrost thermostat.

The thermostat can only be check when it is cold.

Can you please verify your model number?

It should be on a tag in the fridge section with the serial number.
