Default Refrigerator works then gets warm...after we turn off and it defrosts it works.
Brand: Admiral
Model Number: RSWA228A
Age: 5 - 10 years

The frig and freezer work for a couple of days then gradually get warm. We unplug it and defrost for a few hours..then it works again. I have tried setting the defrost timer to off then allowing the refrigerator to run until it comes back on...(approximately 20 minutes). It comes back on. Does this mean the timer is good? I guess the next step is to check the defrost tubes and the sensor? Is this easily done and if so do you do that from inside the freezer or do you have to remove from the back?

Pull back freezer panel and check resistance of defrost thermostat and heater while still cold. If bad just replace.
