I would check the defrost thermostat. Make sure you check the defrost thermostat when it is cold, or else you will get a false reading. I have replace quite a few on that product. If you inspect it, look and see if the back of the defrost thermostat , is pushed up, then you know for sure. If you have a meter, you can check the heater first, buy pulling the wires off the heater, and check for continuity. If you get it, it is good.Of course the refrigerator is unplugged when you do this. Then check the defrost thermostat. You might have to cut the wires on the defrost thermostat to check it, so when you cut the wires, make sure you leave enough room to wire them back up. If you get a continuity reading it is good, if not replace it. Now, if both of these parts are good, you know for sure the board is bad. So if you don't have a meter, get a cheap one. About 15 dollars, it will be worth having around the house. If you need me to teach you how to work the meter, or if you need help, I can be reached at ApplianceEducator.com Tom |
