We have a Kenmore top mount refrigerator that now intermitantly "Thumps" once.
It started doing this several times a day a couple of weeks ago but still works well.

Should I worry?

You might have a weak compressor mount spring. If so it will make a noise when it shuts down. Verify noise is comming from the compressor, if so, remove compressor mounting clips and if suffient room, try tilting the compressor same way till the compressor shuts down without a noise. You are fortunate the compressor doen't make a constant rattle when running!!
