sed860- When you turn the defrost timer you are putting it into the defrost cycle. It will defrost for about 20 minutes and then the unit will come back on. It seems to be working ok.

About your problem. Is your freezer and fridge cold enough. 10 degrees freezer 35 to 40 fridge.
If there is an ice buildup on the coils behind the back panel in your freezer your heater or defrost thermostat could be bad.

sharon100--Check to see if your evaporator fan in the freezer is running.
Do you have ice buildup on the coils under the fan.
If so check your defrost timer, heater and thermostat.
