Unhappy Refrigerator problems
Brand: Whirlpool
Model Number: et21nkxjt00
Age: 5 - 10 years

I am having problems with the freezer freezing foods. I have not heard the compressor kick in at anytime within the pass several hours.

I am not sure if there is a compressor relay, or what the problem may be? Any help would be appreciated...

You meen the fridge section freezing foods. If so you may have a bad cold control.
Also,if the fridge. is low on freon it will cause the same thing. Post both fridge and freezer tems and post back.

If the compressor has not come on for some time it might not have come out of the defrost cycle.

Look in the fridge section of the fridge and locate the defrost control.

It is in the same panel as the temperature control.

All you will see is a little knob the can be turn with a screwdriver.

Turn this clock wise until it clicks.

If the compressor start to run the timer was stuck and you will need to replace it.

If the compressor does not start you could have a bad temperature control, a bad start relay, or a faulty compressor.

Here is a link to your fridge model et21nkxjt00.

Thumbs down Whirlpool Starter For Compressor

I Have Just Replaced The Starter In My 2004 Whirlpool Side By Side Reefer
The Tech Stated That The Starter In These Units Were Manufactured Faulty And Were Redesigned By Whirlpool Suppliers. Whirlpool Rejects This Claim And Will Not Stand Behind This Part If It Is More Than 1 Year Old. The Part Is 209.00 Plus The Tech Visit Charge. You Can Buy The Part Itself On Ebay For About 90.00 Brand New From A Do It Yourself Appliance Store And It Simply Plugs Into The Compressor Assembly In The Lower Back Of The Unit. I Know This Now From Watching How Simple It Was To Take 300.00 From Me.....
