Default Refrigerator not cool enough
Brand: Frigidaire
Model Number: FRT21IL5DWC
Age: Less than 1 year

I just bought an over-under frige for the garage. Plugged it up and set knobs to recommended, put a load of things to cool in the freezer and refrigerator box and got 0 degrees in the freezer and 40 degrees in the box after 24 hrs. So far so good.

I have fiddled with both controls and can't get the box down below 40 degrees. The freezer will go below 0 but the box just hangs out at 40. I think the box should be under 40. My wife says the beer is too hot. What's up? Thanks!!

Make sure the damper control is opening the vent to allow the cold air to be blown from the freezer to the refrigerator. Make sure the fan in the freezer is blowing when the thermostat calls for it.

OK from what I can tell the evaporator is in the freezer and the control is in the refrige box.

I'm assuming that the control in the freezer is the damper that sends air down to the Refrige box. I'll turn down the freezer & see if that works. Thanks!

HMMM...Still got 40 degrees..I'll check in the morning.
