Angry not defrosting

We pulled the control panel box out of the refridgerator. When we tried to click into the defrost mode, we did this with it running. It will not do anything. There is no clicking on or off. So we unpluged it for over one hour, then we pluged it back in. Now we're going to see if it will cool again. The was frost build up on the coils inside the freezer. Overly frost, no but it was on most of coils. Now we will wait and see if it will do anything once we plug it back in.

We called in a repair man, he was here for a minute. Defrost timer and that needed to be replaced. Then on a more closer look he said that the seals weren't sealing. And that would be a problem. We sealed the freezer for the vaccum seal. Then it still didn't freeze, so then we replaced the defrost timer. The temp is better freezer is16 degrees, refrigerator is 38 degrees. Then it defrosted itself again, last night. So now what?.......HELP!!!!!!!!!!!
