Default Refrigerator Items Freezing
Brand: Kenmore
Model Number: 106.55542401
Age: 1 - 4 years

I have a Kenmore Coldspot side-by-side refrigerator (Model number - 106.55542401). The refrigerator items are all freezing and the water dispenser stopped dispensing water. I believe that the thermostat may need to be replaced, but I am not sure where it is located. I looked through the owners manual, but to no avail. Both the freezing and the water dispenser not operating started at the same time, any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Cold air enters the fridge through a damper or vent between the freezer and fridge. The evaporator fan in or behind the freezer blows the air through. There is an adjustment to open and close this vent to allow more or less cold air in. Make sure it's working. There is a flap you adjust with the fridge temp. control. Make sure it's closing.

your water line could be frozen in the door. You can disconnect the line under the unit before it goes into the door at the bottom hinge. Push the dispenser button and see if it comes out there. If it does try a hair dryer blowing where the water line is at the dispenser for a few minutes. Raising the temp of freezer slightly might prevent it from happening again.
