Default Refrigerator Howls like the Wind

I did everything suggested and ended up having to have a repairman come out.

He replaced a "board" in the computer. He called it a "moaning" sound and said that he had run into the same problem a couple of times before and that the company had recommended that the board and the fan be replaced, but that he had found that quite often, only the board needed to be replaced.

It is now working quietly, as it should.

Just thought this might be helpful if you run into this problem again.

Thanks again for trying to help!

Thank you so much for the info. It had happened to me once, and sealing the rear of the freezer, where the water came in was my only thought, because I did not hear the noise. Thank you so much for the time, and the info. I'm sure it will save me quite abit of grief. Merry Christmas. Tom

Had the same issue on my GE refrigerator. The thing would howl for hours on end. Took us a week to realize it was the refrigerator. Found some other threads telling me to replace my control board. Was pretty easy and fixed the problem immediately.
