Default Refrigerator (Frrezer/Fridge) stopped cooling
Brand: Whirlpool
Model Number: et22rkxgw00
Age: 5 - 10 years

Before I attempt to sink any money into repairs I wanted to get some helpful advice. Yesterday I got home from work went to refrigerator and notice that it was not cooling and then opened the top freezer door and everything was defrosted. There is not any weird noises, it sounds the same as it always has, the fan is running.
Now over the past few weeks we have noticed a leak inside the fridge section toward the center/back. I have no previous experience with refrigerators so i don't know if it could be a mechanical issue or if it can be recharged like an A/C unit. Any thoughts?

Which fan is running?

Is it the fan in the freezer or the fan in the back of the fridge?

Is the compressor running?

The leak in the fridge would be water from the defrost cycle.

Both the fan in the freezer and the fan in the back of the fridge are running. I made sure of that while I took a vaccum hose and cleaned the backside of the fridge out.

Is the compressor running? I'd have to plug it back up to confirm whether or not the compressor is running. From memory I could not be sure.
