Our 13 year old Amana Side-by-Side Refrigerator started freezing food placed on the bottom shelf and top vegetable drawer. When I called the company, they said it could be a thermostat or circulating fan. We're trying to decide whether to spend the money on a service call and repair, or replace this refrigerator. It is likely the damper control.

This control the cold air coming in to the fridge.

It sound like it not closing and allowing to much cold air in to the fridge section.
