My side by side Amana keeps freezing food. It won't freeze it if it's on the door, close to the front of the shelf, on the top of the refrigerator. The temperature switch is in the "normal" range, and if I turn it down any lower, the ice maker stops making ice. Any suggestions, please?

The cold air for the fridge side comes through a vent in the back near the top. It is blown through by the evaporator fan. The control for the fridge just opens and closes a damper in that vent. See if it's all the way open. If so close it some and give it a day to warm up. It's probably behind removable panels.
