My refrigerator freezes even though I replaced defrizz controller ( timer ). When fridge was in defrost cycle the defrost heater did not light up. Then I used hair drier to speed up melting process and suddenly the heater started up and turned itself to cherry red color. This happened only once. I played with controller several times changing processes from cooling to heating and I was checking voltage on wires coming to heater. There was no voltage at all.
Is there any other part I should check and replace? I need quick advice, the weather is hot!!! 90 F. THANKS.

Once the freezer is defrosted the heater will not come back on until the temperature is 32 degrees.
