Default Refrigerator/Freezer won't cool
Brand: Frigidaire
Model Number: PLHS267ZA
Age: 5 - 10 years

This is a side by side model with ice/water dispenser. It won't cool. It has happened before and we turned both the refrigerator and freezer off at the controls and it seemed to reset itself and start cooling again. Now it won't reset and won't cool at all. It sounds like the fans are working fine. Where should I start checking to see what the problem is?

Thanks,

Does the compressor sound like it is running or trying to start?

Check the wiring to the compressor and the electronic control in the fridge section.

Please check your model number as there seem to be one or two character at the end missing?

It sounds like the compressor clicks on and off periodically.

Do you think it might be a problem with the freon/refrigerant?

You have a bad start relay mounted on the side of the compressor. Will need to pry it off and check with a meter.

I allways check compressor pins for continuity. If start or run winding is open, new start relay will do no good.
