Question Refrigerator & Freezer Temperature Highly Variable
Brand: General Electric
Model Number: PTS22SCPARBS
Age: 1 - 4 years

The temperatures of both the refrigerator and top-freezer sections of my GE Profile Arctica are all over the place. Two days ago, after having a popsicle slide right off the stick, I read the freezer temp at 32 degrees F on the digital display. I pulled the unit out and vacuumed the coils (which were covered with a ton of lint and dust) and set the temp at -6 for the freezer and 34 for the fridge. After 24 hours (last night), the freezer was -2 degrees F, the fridge at 34. Felt pretty pleased so I adjusted the set temp for the freezer at 0 and the fridge at 37 (recommended settings). This morning, the freezer was at 37 and the fridge at 44. After an hour and a half, the freezer is 22 and the fridge is 43.

My refrigerator is pscyzophrenic! What can I try next?

Default Model number

I verified the model number on the mfc tag in the refrigerator is PTS22SCPARBS.

The model that comes up on the GE website when I search the model number above is:
PTS22SCPBS
GE Profile™ Energy Star® 21.7 Cu. Ft. Stainless Top-Freezer Refrigerator.

Your model has one of the infamous mother boards that like to fail. wr55x10151
Go to web site fridge not cold, Fridges, refrigerators, not cold enough, frost free problems and how to test, noisy fan motors, clicking on and off compressors, door gaskets You can determine thermistor resistance and current draw of evaporator motor there.
You probably have an intermittant evaporator motor plus bad mother board.
Good luck you will need it.
