Refrigerator/Freezer both warm Brand: Whirlpool Model Number: GD2SHAXkQ01 Age: 1 - 4 years Side by Side Whirlpool Gold with ice maker - A few weeks ago we opened the freezer door in the morning to a flood of water (once was ice). Both the freezer & refrigerator were warm. Fans were still blowing, lights still on, sound like motor coming from beneath. I cleaned it out completely, vacuumed coils & did basic maintenance but still blew warm air. I had a busy few weeks and could do nothing about repair (we had an old fridge in the basement & chest freezer to hold all food).
I now have time to troubleshoot and am wondering what things to check. This evening, in getting the model # out, it seems the air is no longer blowing. Maybe I made a mistake in leaving it plugged in (I thought it best to keep the air flowing to prevent molding, etc.). I'm hoping it's just in a "sit" mode "thinking" it doesn't need "cooling" right now, but the silence makes me very nervous.
What can you suggest and what other questions would you have?
Sincerely,
The Beyler |
