Thumbs up Refrigerator/freezer
Brand: Amana
Model Number: BX22S5L
Age: 5 - 10 years

I have an Amana refrigerator/freezer that is freezing up my food in the refrigerator areaas well as the freezer compartment. I have checked the baffle between the freezer and refrig compt. and it is not stuck or frozen when setting the temperature setting. The freezer is on the bottom. I was wondering if the defrost thermostat is not working as this happened once on another unit I had. If so could someone alert me to the location of the thermostat on this unit. If anyone has a different idea as to the problem I am having I am more then happy to hear your comments. thank you . danthor.

Remove freezer back panel and check for frost. If all frosted up, turn defrost timer till compressor turns off and check for defrost, if defrost works=bad defrost timer, if not=bad thermostat or heater.
