Default Refrigerator/freeze door is hot, to the touch
Brand: Amana
Model Number: SCD25TW
Age: More than 10 years

I have a Amana side/by side. Manufaacturing no:P1190422WW S/N:9602138669My door is hot to the touch on freezer and refrigertaor. A service man recommended for me to try to put a fan on the floor in front of frig. to see if it cools off. It does not. I've cleaned the bottom of the coils, the best I could. I can't see them. The freezer and refrigerator cools, but ice cream is very soft. Makes ice. Dials on the refrigerator/freezer are on 7. I've had this trouble for sometime.

Is the whole door hot or is it just where the doors close against the cabinet in the middle?

It hot in the middle of the door. Its a side /side so its hot on the middle metal frame. where the two doors meet.

It is normal for this part of the fridge to be hot to the touch.

There is a heater behind the center strip to stop condensation from forming there.

Pull the fridge away from the wall and check the grating in the back where the fan airflow comes out. If it is clogged with dust and dirt, clean it out. That worked for me to make the center of the doors cool, but it also changed the interior temperature, and I am still playing with the settings to try and get them right.
