Default Refrigerator collecting water
Brand: Kenmore
Model Number: 71182100
Age: 5 - 10 years

I have a Kenmore refrigerator that seems to be working well except it collects water in the refrigerator compartment . It appears to be coming form the vents from the freezer. Could there be a clogged drainage line from the freezer and if so where is it located? Thanks

You have a clogged drain in the freezer backing up to the air return vents.
Pull freezer panel to expose drain area. I use a turkey baster to dump boiling water in the dran area which is in the back wall in the middle.
Keep pumping and removing hot water till the drain runs clear.
If you have a metal defrost heater, run a heavy gauge copper wire around the heater and down the drain. Will keep drain from freezing.

Is there a reason for the air vents getting clogged with ice? I just defrosted the vents three days ago and I can see ice again. This causes the bottom of the refrigerator to be extremely cold as well (its a side-by-side). Any ideas about what I can do? I'd really appreciate any suggestions. I don't want to be defrosting every weekend. Thanks! :-)
