Default Refrigerator
Brand: Hotpoint
Model Number: HSS25GFPJ
Age: 1 - 4 years

My refrigerator will stop working and I can unplug it and wait a few seconds and plug it back in and it starts working. It will work for days before it stops working again. I repeat the unplug procedure and it will restart.
Could this be my defrost timer? If so, where is it located?

It doesn't sound like it's timer related.
Will it stay off forever if you don't unplug and replug?

Does it ever cycle on and off like it's supposed to.

The refrigerator does cycle on and off. It seems to get stuck off once every few days and it will stay off. I can unplug it and plug it back in and it starts working again.
Thanks,

This sounds like a starter or relay problem on the compressor. Refrigerator Repair Guide: How To Fix a Refrigerator - ACME HOW TO.com
