Unhappy Refrig warm freezer frozeup
Brand: General Electric
Model Number: GSS25WGPA BB

Warm refrig, freezer coils solid ice. Heater measures good, about 20 ohms. Overtemp switch reads good (shorted). What next, replace main board? Any help would be much appreciated.

The board in the fridge is usually the one that control the defrosting but I do not have the service information or the schematic for this fridge.

Here is a link to your fridge model gsh25jfrfww.

THERMOSTAT DEF should show continuity when cold, SENSOR TEMP could be not telling the computer the proper temp. the temp sensor is located in the back of the freezer behind the pannel on the left. if you changed the temp sensor make sure no moisture can get to the wires. if that does'nt work go for the board.

The owners manual may tell how to put it in defrost mode with the adaptive board.
