Default Refrig and freezer temp too warm
Brand: General Electric
Model Number: gss25xsrdss
Age: 1 - 4 years

My refrigerator and freezer keep getting too warm. Sometimes they both cool down to the correct temp on their own..work for a few days...then heat up again. I am going to order heater thaw, heater, sensor temp, defrost thermostat, capacitor, and relay start. I figure its got to be one or more of these parts. I can't figure out from the parts diagram how many sensor temps there are. I looks like more than one (freezer and refrig). Does anybody know? Thanks.

If the evaporator coils behind the back panel of the freezer are icing up because of auto defrost failure that will stop the circulation of cold air and eventually affect the freezer too.

In yours you have have the adaptive defrost control. It senses when to defrost based on how many times and for how long the door is opened. It's more energy efficient but there does seem to be lots of problems with the board. It the heater and thermostat are ok it's the board. Appliance gss25xsrdss
