Unhappy Refridgerator / Freezer Not Cooling -Working
Brand: General Electric
Model Number: PSS25MGNAWW
Age: 5 - 10 years

Help....My side by side refridgerator starting having problems with the freezer not cooling, but the other side was working fine. My son unplugged it totally and then plugged it back in. Now, both sides are not cooling. When I arrived home from work, I opened the back and all the fans are operating. The compressor and tubing are cool, and the fan by the compressor is working fine. I am going to try the unplug/plug in one more time, but I have no idea where to go from here and don't have the funds to call for a repair.....

Here is a parts breakdown for your unit. It should be helpful just to see where things are
GE PSS25MGNAWW

The fridge side gets it's cold air from the freezer side, just takes a little longer for problems to show up

Remove the covers from inside the freezer so you can see if the coils are frozen over. If they are you probably have a defrost problem. These fridges will not work unless the coils are fairly clear of ice.

Here is a link with some good info about fridges

Thanks for the help....I took off the cover and the coils are free of ice, the tubing going into the coils is cold. I am going to try the link you posted and see if there is anything else I can do....

The temperature control panel to dispenser board communication test failed, but what does that mean? I ran the diagnostic on the test...but could not find an explanation?

Thanks, John
