Ice works in door and water does not. Disconnected the hose from the valve in the back and got water as I pushed the water dispenser. used a hair dryer for 3 minutes at each end of the hose. No luck,,,, Any suggestion ?

Confirm that the line is frozen in freezer door by disconnecting the water line under the freezer door and try the water switch. If you have water there use the dryer at the dispenser again. I've heard of it taking 5 minutes. If you need to take the cover off, they usually pry off. Gently a little at a time round and round.

have confirmed that water out of valve works properly.........as I have been using the hair dryer at the water dispenser another problem developed......the microswitch no longer engages and a black piece (that looks like a float with a long eye hook at the end) came out
questions:
how does the float hook back up ?
what is the easiest way to replace the switch ?

thanks

See if one of these is your part. Look for little pins protruding that could be used to hold it in. Could be broken off. Have you taken your front cover off to access the switch area.
