Default Puddle on floor in front of fridge/freezer
Brand: Frigidaire
Model Number: FRS26ZRFW1
Age: More than 10 years

Every few days a puddle appears on the floor in front of of fridge/freezer. I unplugged to clean out both units and discovered a frozen layer of water on the bottom of the freezer unit. I thought my problem was miraculously solved, but the puddles continue and the ice layer is back. Please help.

Tansy, you don't give a lot of information. Is the refrig auto defrost, is freezer unit top or bottom, do you have auto ice maker? At this point the only thing anyone could guess is you have water i refrig but whats the source? Auto defrost have a dreainage system and if that's pluged up, thats one problem. If auto ice, is water overflowing the tray upon refilling? On auto matic ice is there a leak in the piping system? Get back with more info. PL

I am having the same problem with my Frigedaire fridge. Also the fridge is warm but the freezer is still freezing. I removed the cover where the fan is in the freezer and with a hair dryer I removed the ice that was built up on the coils. And for the next 2-3 days my refrigerator got cold again but now the ice is building up again and the fridge is warm. I was wondering if anyone could tell me if this sounds like a problem with the defrost timer? My freezer is on top. And I have never had the auto ice maker operatiing.
