Default Please Help!! Icemaker doesn't work, but water dispenser does??
Brand: General Electric
Model Number: GSS25PGMBWW
Age: 1 - 4 years

Hi-
I posted before about this and it was suggested it was my water valve. I ordered a new one and tried it, that is not what it is. What else would be allowing water to dispense in door, but not to the icemaker. The auger works. When turned off and back on, the icemaker cycles through a harvest once or twice (with the trays being dry) then the green light starts blinking on the icemaker. Please, any help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks!
Tom

Check your ice maker.

There are switch in some ice makers. Your wiring diagram should show you this.

Can you please be more specific? Check the switch? Surely you don't mean the obvious on/off switch on the front of the icemaker. That is the first thing I tried months ago. Is there a switch inside of the icemaker that "trips" the water valve to fill the tray? Where can I get the wiring diagram?

thanks,
Tom

Yes there are switches inside the ice maker.

The wiring diagram should be on the back of the fridge.
