Default Pin broke (this should be easy...)
Brand: Whirlpool
Model Number: ED25PWXBW01SE0618366
Age: More than 10 years

*JUST*moved into new home after divorce, I got the 12-year old fridge. (He got the 23-year old girlfriend...LOL! )

There's 4 dowel pins that the veggie bin sits on. The broken pin seems to have a small metal center, and it's surrounded by a plastic shell. I've ordered a new pin, but I'm just not sure how to remove the old pin. Does it screw out? Pull out? Do I need explosives? (kidding...) I just don't want to ruin the interior of the fridge by removing it incorrectly. I know this is probably a REAL basic question, but this is my first foray into (albeit minor) appliance repair. Thanks!

From what you are describing it sound like you have the stud with a screw through it.

If this is what you have then all you have to do is screw one out and the other in.

Here is a picture of the two different studs. The one on the left screws in. The one on the right twists in.
