Default Part identification
Brand: General Electric
Model Number: GSS25JFMBWW
Age: 1 - 4 years

The unit has a defrost fault. The DTT ohms out good. The heater ohms out and jumps out good. The board has been changed. The f.f. and f.z. compartment temp's are normal until frost blocks air flow. There is a thermistor clipped to the evap. coil at the top. It is clipped on with a stainless clip. This is not the fz temp. sensor ( thermistor ). That sensor is present in a different location. The evap. sensor does not show up on the breakdowns. Can anyone identify this sensor ? Thinking maybe it's a fact. add on. The board was changed previously by G.E. under warr.

Here is a link to a parts breakdown
GE GSS25JFMBWW

If the item you are talking about is Item 240 in the Freezer section it is the defrost thermostat. It is wired in series with the defrost element. Shuts off (opens) when the coils are frost free.

Item 240 is a defrost termination thermostat ( DTT ). I refered to that part in my initial post. The part I want to identify is a different part. My supplied faxed me a breakdown, but thanks anyway.

Do you mean you have 3 sensors/thermostats clipped to the evap coils
I show only 2 the Defrost Thermostat (DTT) and the Evaporator Thermistor
Then there is the Freezer Temp Thermistor but that is down on the side

I have found out that GE did not indicate the evap. thermistor in the breakdown. Only the fz. temp. therm. is shown #241. I also found out that both therm. are the same. So that solves the problem. Now if anyone knows a good reason why GE says you MUST change the evap. fan mtr. when changing the evap. therm. I would appreciate that info.
