Default No wire harness for ice maker
Brand: Frigidaire
Model Number: FRT21NNCW5
Age: More than 10 years

I bought an add on ice maker for a Frigidaire FRT21NNCW5 (age is a guess at over 10 years). The fridge has all the knockouts but it never had an ice maker and I finally have broken down for the wife's sake. I went to install it and discovered no wiring harness for it. Can I make my own? Apart from the fact that I'm not sure of the correct part number, the only kits I find range from $60 to $90 and the pictures don't look right. That seems steep to me for splicing a little wire. Any help is appreciated!!

did you buy just the icemaker or did you buy whats called a icemaker field kit. Most kits i have used come with everything needed including bucket, valve, wiring and tubing....go to a good appliance parts dealer with your model #

Pull the rear cover and see if you have a water valve came in the frig...if so,you should also have wiring??

The kit is an IM155. It came with everything. Solenoid, tray, a pig tail harness, etc but the fridge isn't prewired with a harness. There is a 3 wire flat connector where a harness will plug in but that's all. I will figure it out. I'm not paying $90 for $4 of wire and $6 worth of connectors I can get from Radio Shack. What a rip!
