Default No water for ice maker
Brand: Kenmore
Model Number: 106.52552100
Age: 5 - 10 years

The icemaker stopped making ice after having to run ice accelerator for 4 days straight due to wife's knee surgery requiring alot of icing. This happened about 3years ago, and the repair person simply defrosted an area after ensuring
all items were AOK.

I defrosted the freezer for 3 hours and used hair dryer on water line
coming into ice maker. There was ice in the line, and water did drip out
of line after I defrosted and used hair dryer. I only heated the water
line area on the top of the freezer compartment. Where else does
the water line run that i need to defrost?

Thanks!

I would check the water inlet valve on the back of the fridge if you did not get any water after defrosting the line.

The water line runs down the back of the fridge either on the outside of the cabinet or between the insulation and the cabinet.

Here is a link to the parts of your fridge model 106.52552100.

Ended up getting service, as electronic sensor in ice maker and the electronics in the blower to move cold air between freezer and fridge were both out. Took advantage of the pre-visit offer to pay a flat fee of $239 up front; Total repairs (incl labor) were over $380, but since i paid upfront, i did not have to pay the difference; lucky me..
