Default No water after moving
Brand: Maytag
Model Number: MFD2560 HEB
Age: 5 - 10 years

We got this fridge from an abandoned house. We knew the owners and they just up and left it almost new. After 3 years setting dormant, we cleaned it up REAL GOOD and have been using it for about 8 months now. The other day I moved it across the room in the kitchen. I reconnected the water line and no water. I have changed the line to it. I have removed the plate in the back to fully expose the water valve, I can have my wife try to run water from the inside the unit. The valve does appear to do something. The line I used to provide the water to the fridge is plastic and I can see air bubbles and they don't move. The valve (or the whole process) sounds different to me, almost like the valve isn't fully opening. My thinking is that the valve has siezed, if that is possible is it also possible to free it up? If not how hard is it for a handyman (me) to replace it?

Thanks for your help!

It could be sticking. Work it repeatedly trying to free it up. It's easy to replace. You can see more about checking it out here. Refrigerator Repair Guide: How to Check the Water Inlet Valve - ACME HOW TO.com If the screen is dirty make sure you flush the line till it runs clear.

Well, I've replaced the valve assy. and have found the I must have a clog in the feed tube to the filter. Correct me if I am wrong, but the inlet to the filter is on the outside edge with those two nubs acting as valves. If and when they are pressed inward they open and allow the water to flow into the filter and back out the center. If I press on either of those nubs with the water on I get only a drop or two. Do both of them need to be pushed in? Also, in my manual it says that I need 35#'s of water pressure for proper operation. Is that for getting through the filter?

Thanks for any comments
